This is something I have been meaning to do since 2004 when my Special Someone and I took our first holiday overseas. Instead, I settled for scratching in a notepad (the paper kind not the HP kind) and holding on to every scrap of paraphernalia I came across during the trip. Three years and another two overseas jaunts later I am yet to read back over anything in that notebook from ’04, although I still collect every piece of memorabilia I can get my clutches on.
Special Someone calls me the ‘Keeper of Archives’.
(Archives = useless crap which will most likely never be looked at again.)
A colleague at work, lets call her the Red Terror, maintains a very good blog on this site which has rekindled the interest in recent months and with the biggest holiday so far coming up in November I decided this was the year to finally get around to it.
An attempt this week to clean out the junk room (my bedroom) ended with me stumbling across various stashes of ‘archives’ collected over the last few years so I figured I might as well make a start now and put some thoughts and pics together from past travels before getting into the upcoming dream holiday.
I won’t make it all about travel though ….that’d be boring as hell even to me so I’ll try to pad it out with some of the usual blog type stuff – you know…. work/home/likes/dislikes …..kind of a general insight into how my mind works (or doesn’t.....depending on the day)
That’ll probably do it for tonight ….. the main point of this entry was to actually get it started. Trawling through the ‘archives’ and the many MANY photos will take a couple of days so maybe for next time a bit about who I am ??
